Simple Salted Caramel FudgeDifficulty: Easy
This recipe makes approximately 36 cubes of fudge. You will need a square tin approximately 20 x 20 cm, lined with baking parchment.
1 can (397g) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup caster sugar
1/4 cup dark brown soft sugar
1/4 cup golden syrup
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup white chocolate, chopped
2 tsp salt
- Start by adding all the ingredients, apart from the chocolate and salt, to a pan over a medium heat. Stir gently until the butter has melted and the sugar has dissolved.
- Keep stirring continuously whilst raising the temperature slightly until the mixture starts to bubble. Turn down the heat and simmer for 6-8 minutes. The texture should thicken into a gooey caramel consistency.
- Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the chocolate and 1 tsp of the sea salt. Once the chocolate is melted pour the molten fudge into the prepared tin. Leave to cool at room temperature and sprinkle over the remaining sea salt.
- For the perfect fudge leave to set overnight before slicing into cubes.
