Chocolate Orange Cheesecake

The combination of flavours in a chocolate orange work so well together, so what’s not to love about this Christmas classic in dessert form?! This no-bake cheesecake is made up of an oaty cocoa base with a cream cheese and chocolate orange creamy topping.

This recipe makes approximately 16 mini cheesecakes, or 1 large 20cm round cheesecake. You will need 16 small or one large 20cm x 10 cm deep tins, greased and lined with baking parchment.

Ingredients

  • For the biscuit base
  • 1 cup rolled oats

  • 1/2 cup digestive biscuits

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

  • 1/4 cup milk chocolate

  • 1/4 cup golden syrup

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter

  • For the cheesecake
  • 3/4 cup cream cheese

  • 3 cups icing sugar

  • 3/4 cup semisweet/milk chocolate

  • 1/2 a chocolate orange

  • 3/4 cup double cream

  • For the decorations
  • 1/2 a chocolate orange

  • Cocoa powder

Directions

  • In a food processor, blitz the oats, biscuits, cocoa, milk chocolate, golden syrup and butter together. The mixture shouldn’t be too fine, but large chunks should be broken down. Once well incorporated compress the mixture evenly into the tin/ tins until an even layer fills the covers the bottom completely. Refrigerate until needed.
  • In a bowl mix the icing sugar and cream cheese together until smooth and there are no lumps. In a separate bowl whip the double cream until stiff peaks just start to form.
  • Either in a microwave or over a Bain Marie, melt the chocolate and half of the chocolate orange until liquid and glossy. Leave to cool briefly, before adding to the whipped cream and mixing until fully incorporated.
  • Finally, add the cream cheese mixture to the chocolate whipped cream, mix thoroughly, then pour over your biscuit base. Use a spoon to evenly distribute and smooth over the top. Stick segments of the chocolate orange into the filling then cover and refrigerate for at least two hours, or overnight.
  • To serve, dust with cocoa powder and slice! Enjoy!
